A two-time employee of the month, Donald Hernandez once received from a supervisor just about the highest compliment a person can get. A manager on the night shift called Herndanez “a great role model.”
The reasons? Hernandez, a Western Window Systems employee since February 2012, does it all on the night shift and he does it the right way.
“Donald leads by example,” says Jason Wengert, department manager, “whether it’s through his work ethic, positive attitude, spotless attendance, or helpful coaching.”
He is especially adept at foreseeing issues that might face the incoming day shift, often leaving notes for the day-side lead and manager. It’s that kind of conscientiousness that proves invaluable to a department head.
“No matter how difficult the schedule or what kind of labor shortage we have, Donald will strategize ways to overcome those challenges and always with quality in mind,” Wengert says.
Perhaps Donald’s greatest asset, though, is his character, which exemplifies the core values of Western Window Systems.
“A person’s word is credit, and if a person says they will get a task done, they should follow through,” Wengert says. “And Donald always means what he says and he always follows through on his word.”
Congratulations to Donald Hernandez, Western Window Systems’ night shift employee of the year for 2017.
