Western Window Systems names Kevin Vilhauer as Vice President of Engineering and Design

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Western Window Systems, part of PGT Innovations’ (NYSE: PGTI) family of brands, recently announced Kevin Vilhauer as its Vice President of Engineering and Design. 
  
Vilhauer brings more than 20 years of experience in the window and door industry to Western Window Systems and most recently served as Integration Engineer at Katerra. While there, he integrated new technology into windows, doors and buildings, performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations on products and designed next generation building integrated window and electronic hardware. Prior to that, he spent an 18-year tenure at Milgard Manufacturing as Engineering Manager. Vilhauer has experience in design, research and testing.

In his new role, Vilhauer will direct and lead the design engineering team, ensure products are designed with manufacturability and repetitive methods in mind, act as the Western liaison for the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) and direct and lead the Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) team, among other duties. Vilhauer will act as a team member of the executive team and will report directly to the president of the company.

Vilhauer received his bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University. He also holds an innovation and entrepreneurship certificate from Stanford University and a Masco leadership program in innovation certificate from Michigan State University. Vilhauer is actively involved in the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and holds leadership roles with the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). He will be based out of the Western Window Systems corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz.
